I have been busy developing my new cotton jewellery range. After creating my collar scarves in cotton yarn I was surprised to find out just how many people are allergic to wool and the positive response I got from these people. I choose cotton yarn for different qualities such as structure, as I myself am not allergic to wool, but I love that I am able to provide contemporary knitwear to people who usually are unable to wear it with out irritation. I wanted to carry this on with my jewellery range and I thought of all the lovely felted jewellery out there and how people allergic to wool are unable to wear this.
I started to looking at the typical felted balls and did my own version of little balls of cotton yarn. I think these are the perfect gift for a knitter as they really are just mini balls of yarn. I then looked at knitting some jewellery and came up with these simply plait necklaces.
I have decided to add colour in to my new spring/summer range and I have been having lots of fun putting colours together. I have gone for a very different colour palette to the muted colours used for my collar scarves and instead have been looking at vibrant contrasting colours. I really have enjoyed putting this range together.
