These adorable and quirky sculptures just make me smile! They have been created by Samantha Bryan and they are inspired by Victorian Gadgetry and Inventions. They are made using wire, leather, found objects and collected materials. Her work has the fabulous title of Brain’s Fairy Aided Inventions and describes her work as
“My sculptures place what can only be described as ‘fairies’ with machine-like contraptions. They depict fairies going about their everyday lives. Within my work my extraordinary objective is to realise the necessities and requirements that would be involved in ‘fairy life’: to provide everything a fairy would demand during its daily existence.”
I love Samatha’s work and her sculptures really bring your imagination to life and make you spend the time to think about the tough life of being a fairy!
