I have started playing around with faux leather to create structured textile jewellery. I love clean lines and strong silhouettes, which is what I have tried to recreate within this jewellery.

I then went on to looking at putting colour into each piece by edging the fabric with coloured thread. I feel this is an effective way to add a  colour, what do you think? I would love to know so feel free to comment.

I love creating multifunctional designs where the wearer can create the style and unique look they want. With this in mind I have designed this wrap.  Made using 100% cotton it can be fastened anywhere with an embroidered brooch.

I am still having fun playing around with the soluble fabric I used to create my embroidered buttons. I have been looking at other ways to use cover buttons including a simple brooch which can be used to add detail to an outfit but also can be used as a fastener. For example my circular ladder scarf can be transformed in to a shawl with just a brooch.

I then went on to create larger brooches that create a bit more of a feature. These too can be used to fasten my scarf designs but also just add detail to any outfit.

Lastly I have begun to look at creating jewellery out of my covered buttons. I already create button jewellery so I thought what would be better then making button jewellery out of my own handmade buttons. I have begun with rings but hope to move on to necklaces and bracelets, so watch this space.

I have been looking at using soluble fabric to cover buttons with. I have used a sewing to machine to freehand embroider yarn on to the soluble fabric. After being washed you are left with just the yarn and thread, which I then used to cover metal buttons.

I have still been playing around with shrug and shawl ideas for the summer. The top design is a basic shrug shape that will keep that summer evening breeze off your shoulders. The bottom scarf has been designed with a loop to allow you to wear it how ever you want, which makes it perfect for all year round. Either tie it round loosely for the summer or wrap around snug for the winter.
